Dominican Discloses Captains, Sked

by Samuel Vogel-seidenberg

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- After coming off the best fall season in program history, Dominican will resume its quest to qualify for the MCLA National Championships powered by Under Armour with a strong group of captains and solid, 14-game schedule this spring.

Harnessing the power of talented 18-man rookie class will be the responsibility of four captains in 2019.

Senior Harrison Rae is a midfielder looking to lead the Penguins with his voice and finishing ability.

Blaise Demaree, a senior defenseman, has been a leader on the defensive side of the ball since his freshman year. He looks to build off his all-conference honorable mention season.

Erik Garcia is a junior long-stick middie and coming off of a record-breaking season. He lead the entire WCLL in ground balls and earned 1st team all-conference honors at the long-stick midfielder position.

Lastly is Garrett Teagarden, a junior attackman who is an offensive threat every time he touches the ball. He is looking to build off his all-conference honorable mention season with a breakout junior year.

The Penguins are very excited about their challenging spring schedule and the new changes to the WCLL conference.

“The WCLL is now one of the toughest conferences in the MCLA, but is also wide open with the changes, new teams added and the growth of the programs in the WCLL,” said Dominican coach Sammy Vogel-Seidenberg. “We are excited about this upcoming year and feel we have a challenging, yet balanced schedule that will test our young team and make us ready to compete for a spot in the WCLL playoffs.”

After a pair of scrimmages, the Penguins open their season with back-to-back home games against Chico State on February 9th, 2019 and Claremont on February 10th, 2019.
